NSE DELIVERY DATA · UPDATED EVERY EVENING
High delivery percentage stocks today
On , 81 NSE shares settled at least 65% of the day's traded volume as delivery, out of 1,101 shares liquid enough to rank. For scale, the median share in that group settled 46.0% — so this is roughly the top 7% of the market.
What an ordinary delivery percentage looks like
This is the context nearly every page on this topic leaves out. Across the 1,101 liquid shares in this session:
Read that before reading the table. A stock at 60% delivery is above average but entirely ordinary; one above 74.0% is genuinely in the top percentile of the session. NSE printed no delivery figure for 260 securities that traded, and those are excluded rather than counted as zero.

What delivery percentage does and does not tell you
The number answers one narrow question: of everything that traded in this stock today, how much was carried into someone's demat account rather than closed out before the bell. It is a property of a single session's order flow. It is not a measure of conviction, of institutional interest, or of anything about the company — none of which the exchange file contains.
The most common misreading is treating it as a share of the company. A stock can show 90% delivery on a day when 0.01% of its equity changed hands; the percentage is of the day's volume, and that denominator is usually tiny relative to the company. Read delivery percentage and turnover together or neither means much.
The series column changes what the number means
Almost no page on this topic mentions it, but the series a security trades in determines how its delivery percentage should be read — and in two cases determines the number outright.
- BE and BZ are trade-to-trade. Intraday square-off is not permitted in them by exchange rule, so delivery is not a choice a trader makes. NSE does not publish a delivery figure for these at all — on the session shown here it printed a dash for every one of them, which is why they are absent from this table rather than sitting at the top of it.
- SM and ST are the SME platform. These are genuine shares in real companies, but they trade in large lot sizes among few participants, so a high delivery percentage is structural rather than notable. The median SME row settles far above the median main-board row. They are kept in this table and tagged, rather than quietly dropped.
- EQ is the main board, and is where a delivery percentage carries the meaning most readers assume: a genuine choice, by a genuine mix of participants, to carry the stock overnight rather than trade it out.
Why the same stock shows different numbers on NSE and BSE
Each exchange reports only its own trades. A stock listed on both has two order books, two volumes and two delivery quantities, so the two percentages are computed on different denominators and will not agree. When a stock's NSE and BSE delivery figures differ sharply, it usually reflects where the intraday trading concentrated, not a data error.

Delivery percentage questions
What is delivery percentage in the stock market?
It is the share of a single day’s traded quantity that was actually settled by delivery — moved into a buyer’s demat account — rather than bought and sold again within the same session. NSE publishes it per security per day as DELIV_PER in its end-of-day file. It is a property of one day’s trading, not of the company.
Is a high delivery percentage good?
It means a larger share of that day’s volume was taken as delivery rather than traded intraday. It does not say who bought, why, or at what price they intend to sell. A high figure on tiny volume tells you almost nothing; the same figure on heavy turnover says more people were willing to carry a position overnight.
What is a normal delivery percentage?
It is lower than most readers assume. On the session shown here the median liquid NSE share settled 46.0% on delivery, and only the top 1% cleared 74.0%. Any single number quoted as "normal" without the distribution behind it is not worth much.
Why do NSE and BSE show different delivery percentages for the same stock?
Because each exchange reports only its own trades. A stock trading on both venues has two separate volumes and two separate delivery quantities, so the two percentages are calculated on different denominators and rarely match. Neither is wrong; they measure different order books.
Why do some stocks show no delivery figure at all?
NSE prints a dash rather than a number for some securities and series, and this page shows those as — instead of treating the absence as zero. The count of securities without a figure for the session is stated above the table.
Does high delivery mean institutions are buying?
Not by itself. Delivery data is anonymous and carries no information about who traded. Bulk and block deal disclosures, which name the counterparty, are a separate exchange file and a better place to look for that question.
